We thought we’d give you a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes from order to delivery when you book with us. Let’s answer the question, how does our our bike delivery service actually work?
Placing your order
Customers book their bike deliveries via our website. It’s something we are very proud of because we think it’s the simplest and easiest to use in the industry. No weight or dimensions to enter, customers simply select the type of bike they want to ship, add the collection and delivery details on the same page, add it to their basket (repeat if required), checkout and pay.
Behind the scenes, our systems generate files we use for labels, collection and delivery orders are automatically created in our delivery planning software + backup files if the automation ever fails.
At this point customers receive an order confirmation + an email is sent to the collection and delivery parties explaining what happens next.

Planning
Everyday as orders arrive they are added to an unscheduled list. Our skilled planners take these orders and assign them to Routes which are specific to a driver and vehicle.
When a planned route is complete, customers added to that route are pre-notified by email what date their collection or delivery will take place.
Sometimes issues can occur and Routes need to be amended. If any customer is affected by a route amendment we will contact them directly to advise. We also try to accomodate any customer with a specific date request, where possible.

Collection & Delivery
On the day of your bike collection or delivery, when a driver starts his route on his app, an email with a LIVE tracking link is sent out. Additionally, just before the collection or delivery actually takes place, our driver will call ahead to advise of an ETA.
When the driver arrives, they will safely secure your bike in their van if it’s being collected. For deliveries, they will hand it over and make any minor adjustments as necessary so the bike is Ready to Ride.

ePoD and Invoicing
When a collection or delivery has been made, customers will receive an Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePoD) with pictures, a signature and a timestamp. For deliveries, at this point, the order is marked as Completed. For B2B customers that have an account with us, orders are automatically marked as Ready to Invoice until they are invoiced and then they are Completed.
So there you go, that’s how our bike delivery service works. Here are what some of our customers think of it.
